Ahhh, that's what you are supposed do with the leaves. In years past I just let the winds off the lake blow them somewhere else, like the fields on either side of us. Now those fields are woods and the volume of leaves has significantly increased and my desire to rake them has faded (if it was ever there). I use the riding mower to mulch them all up nice and fine, sweep them up with the pull behind sweeper and dump them in the low spots in my lot next door. Much faster. Still get the air of a nice fall day, just not as quiet.

ReplyDeleteTruth be told, I use a leaf blower to pile them up. But use of that noisy beast is very temporary...most of the time is quite peaceful.
